Here are your instructors for the First Rites of Summer beach volleyball clinic.
David Fischer enters his tenth season with the Seahawk Volleyball program after being elevated to Associate Head Coach in 2017. He has led the beach volleyball team since the program's founding in 2016, and he helped UNCW Indoor Volleyball capture its first CAA Championship. As a player, Fischer competed on the AVP for 13 years, represented USA in the Pan Am Games, has multiple Norceca gold medals, and has competed internationally in Europe, South America, Central America, and New Zealand. He competed indoors for Stanford University and twice finished ranked #2 in the country, and has a Master’s Degree from CSUN and a Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University.

Isabella has been coaching volleyball since 2010 throughout the South and East Coast with various ages and skill levels. She is currently the recruiting coordinator for Louisiana Tech University. She came to Ruston after she assisted Stevenson University’s Men's Beach Volleyball team in their debut NCAA Season and volunteered for the Stevenson University Women’s Beach team following their National Championship win in 2021, and was hired the following season as the full time assistant for both programs. Her club experience includes seasons with Va Juniors, Columbia Volleyball Academy, NC Coastal, Virginia Elite, NVVA, and 239 Florida with multiple USAV Nationals qualifications throughout. Additionally, she has coached indoor and beach camps with East Carolina University, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, West Point, Navy, and American University, just to name a few.
She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She is a four-year NCAA DI letter winner with two years in the AAC and two years in the CAA. While at UNCW, she competed as a top pair on the beach team, led the indoor team to a CAA Conference Championship, and competed in a first-round match-up with ACC rival UNC in the NCAA tournament.
Ian Capp is currently the Head Men’s Beach Volleyball Coach and Assistant Women’s Beach Volleyball Coach at Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Maryland. Prior to getting his start in coaching, Capp had an industrious collegiate career at Kean University. He started all four years for the Cougars, playing in 302 career sets and accumulating 318 kills, 2,314 assists, 110 total blocks, and 481 digs. His 228 career service aces rank him second all-time in NCAA Division III records. These statistics made him a two-time NJAC Player of the Year and also earned multiple American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC), and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) awards as well as two CoSIDA Academic All-District designations. Though his college career came to an end after the 2020-21 season, Capp continued playing. He currently plays professionally in the National Volleyball Association for New Jersey Team Freedom. Since his debut with Team Freedom, Capp has consistently been ranked as one of the top grass volleyball players in the United States.
